Customer: Department of Navy – Naval Enterprise Networks Program Office (PMW 205)

Title: Contract & Acquisition Business Support Services NGEN 2.0

Objectives: Avaris consultants coordinated and reviewed all contract deliverables with project and technical managers. We established milestones and monitors internal master schedule progress of various customer programs in MS Project. Our team efforts primarily focused on the sustainment segments of SDLC process. Our SME’s served as a technical and functional liaison for the Navy PMW 205 NGEN Contracts 2.0 group on various SAP procurement and contractual requirements. We were heavily involved with the Requirement to Award Process Tool (RAPT) process modifications. Out team coordinated the review and update of the RAPT process guide by gathering stakeholder inputs in Visio process diagrams. The team successfully coordinated 6AG Rate Card cost analysis inputs for Contracts 2.0 team all the way to award.

 

Customer: Social Security Administration

Title: Social Security Administration (SSA) Agile Transformation Support Services

Objectives: Avaris consultants were brought in to assist the SSA with migrating the Disability Case Processing System (DCPS) to a more Agile centric environment. DCPS is a 6 year program that was created to merge the various 54 Disability Determination (DD) components systems within the SSA. Our consultants are assisting this Agile transformation by working to enhance  SSA's disability process functionally and technologically by providing full process integration, ease of sharing disability processing workload across DD Component sites. We are providing advisory support in the early stages of the transformation which included, contract support, training, development and DEVops support, technical advisement and planning.

 

Customer: Department of Labor

Title: System Automation using Agile Methods

Objectives: Avaris provided support services around the Department of Labor’s initiative to automate it's ERISA Filing Acceptance System II (EFAST2) Pension management system using Agile principles. The previous system was constructed using the waterfall methodology. Our consultants assisted with everything from gathering requirements to the full implementation. The Avaris subject matter experts were able to facilitate the coordination of multiple Agile SCRUM principals across twenty (20) teams. Through our excellent Agile practices and support services we were able to drive an early delivery of the Phase 1 implementation. This 5 month schedule reduction allowed the Department of Labor to recognize approximately 10 million dollars in this process automation effort.

 

Customer: Department of Defense – Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA)

Title: Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Explosive (CBRNE) Support Services

Objectives: Our CBRNE consultants provided 24x7 detection, analysis and simulation assistance to the PFPA program. Avaris successfully integrated CBRNE analysts and technical writers into the PFPA organization. The Avaris team regularly maintained and repaired critical and mission sensitive equipment. Our inputs into the Preventative Maintenance Schedule as well as unscheduled maintenance efforts were greatly appreciated by the PFPA client. We received accolades for our ability to consistently achieve the 1-hr response time and 48-hr repair time metric. Avaris consultants made significant contributions to the PFPA records management process specifically related to CBRNE equipment analysis data collection.

 

Customer: Department of Defense – Mark Center Security Operations Center (MCSOC)

Title: Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Explosive (CBRNE) Support Services

Objectives: Avaris analysts provided CBRNE support to the Mark Center Security Operations Center (MCSOC).  We supplied alarm monitoring personnel onsite to provide 24/7 monitoring for the installed Software House Intrusion Detection System (IDS). Our analysts’ facilitated training and process reengineering support services. Our team regularly our client on hazard prediction modeling and simulation best practices. In addition to training our consultants were intimately engaged with revising and modifying many of the Mark Center technical/procedural guides required for proper maintenance and monitoring of the IDS equipment.

 

Customer: Department of Navy – Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Implementation

Title: Navy ERP SAP Implementation Business Analysis Support Services-Tier 2

Objectives: Avaris provided Tier 2 business analyst functional consultant support services for the Navy ERP Implementation program 1.0 Release. Our BA’s routinely contributed to various SAP Material Management-MM and Workflow-WF quick reference guides (funding docs, DMS and MILSTRIP) updates to knowledge database and SharePoint. We supplied expert level business process guidance and reengineering assistance to ERP challenges that faced our Navy end users. Avaris consults maintained 99% Tier 2 Service Level Targets and MM/WF Team metrics. We were often tasked with assisting users in P-Card procurements and monthly reconciliation. Support focused heavily upon MRP planning and Goods Receipt Invoicing all to vendor payment. Our team presented trouble ticket analysis on SAP training deficiencies on a bi-weekly basis. This analysis highlighted SAP procurement processes/practices that needed to be adjusted to better serve the end Navy user.

 

Customer: Defense Medical Readiness Training Institute (DMRTI-Army)

Title: Homeland Security Medical Executive Course- Community Resilience Workshops

Objectives: Avaris instructors provided various management consulting workshops and sessions on emergency preparedness. The trainings offered by Avaris focused on assisting various Homeland Security medical professionals with responding and rebounding from disasters as well as understanding the interdependencies of federal, local and state efforts. We created and trained on a community resilience methodology that emphasized coordination and collaboration among environmental stakeholders and helped drive a common understand of threats to disaster awareness.

 

Customer: PayPal/Ebay : Agile

Title: Agile Transformation, Coaching and Enterprise Development

Objectives: Paypal developed the first international credit application for Apple Inc. Since this time other vendors are now wanting to offer credit and sell their products in other countries. Avaris consultants played an integral part in the significant achievement with Paypal. Our team provided functional support using Enterprise Agile Methods, including SAFe, SCRUM, KANBAN and other Agile tools and techniques. We worked as Agile coaches for the program and assisted in guiding over 57 Agile teams who amasses approximately 17,000 user stories. As a part of the Paypal team we were able to deliver this solution in 1.5 years. Avaris consultants provided, training, coaching, player/coach support, scrum master and developer support. 

 

Customer: U.S Department of Health and Human Services-Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Title: Healthcare-associated Infection (HAI) Research, Training and Outreach Support Services

Objectives: Avaris is in its second multi-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract with the CDC. Avaris through its outstanding work and excellent customer service amassed 28 task orders under the previous IDIQ and we are at 9 and counting under the current IDIQ. We have and continue to provide research, training and outreach via regional training sessions, webinars and on-site training to state/local health department administrators and healthcare workers across the country. Our support services focus on the preventing and thwarting the spread of HAI’s such as Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections-CAUTI, Central Line Bloodstream Infection-CLABSI and Surgical Site Infections-SSI’s to name a few. Our consultants have facilitate everything from National Health Safety Network (NHSN) national trainings to federal Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC) sessions. Our consultants assist our CDC clients with developing and disseminating evidence-based recommendations and guidelines. We foster regional and national relationships between academic and public health partners for the purpose of designing and evaluating the efficacy of HAI intervention practices.

 

Customer: State of Maryland-Department of Human Resources (Office of Technology for Human Services)

Title: EPMO Business Analyst Support Services

Objectives: Avaris consultants provide EPMO advisory support on the A-87 federal funding initiatives. This effort calls for an initial and on-going review against eligible State of MD-DHRIS applications. Our consultants provides EPMO financial and procurement oversight on all OTHS applications (~47 applications, 7 systems). We facilitates Quarterly Portfolio Review (QPR) requirements and data collection for Secretary of Department of Human Resources presentation. Our SME’s guides EPMO efforts around process streamlining and process enhancement to track and monitor Task Orders and Time and Cost estimates. Out team assists in the analysis of ClearQuest reports against current application MS Project release schedules. We conducts cost and financial analysis for more than 100+ projects across 47 applications fall under the State of Maryland, Department of Human Resources-Office of Technology for Human Services. Our 2014 year end M&O Reconciliation efforts resulted in cost savings $431K (~4,200 hour credit) for our client. We successfully documented monthly Maintenance and Operations (M&O) process (~120 projects).

Title: Program Management Support Services

Objectives: Avaris Provide Assistance locating new opportunities/markets for Veterans

Outreach and Mental Health Service for VOAC. AC furnished statistical data & information on veterans in the target service area. AC systematically gleaned pertinent data from veterans affairs data bases and present this data and information to VOAC in a digestible fashion that met their requirements. Armed with is type of statistical data and information, VOAC was better able to make stronger cost benefit decisions as to feasibility of developing and/or pursuing certain types of service delivery programs. AC provided “strategic” introductions to veterans affairs leadership in Veterans Outreach and Mental Health Service areas. AC mounted a concerted outreach program that served VOAC’s end goal to become better known as a service provider for military veterans and their families.
